Volunteer Opportunities PDF Print E-mail

There are three ways to volunteer:

*As a Group-Your church or organization can come out and help with various projects throughout the year.  We had volunteers come out in 2008 to help with everything from painting and landscaping to providing special programs for the children.

*As an individual-To best utilize our resources, we often rely on volunteers to help with the day to day activities of the Center.  We are especially in need of male mentors and tutors, but have opportunities for females as tutors as well.  In addition, we often need help in our accounting, development, human resources, and missions departments with clerical work.

*As an individual/committees-We need individuals to serve on various committees, including programming, fundraising, and special events.

Current Volunteer Opportunities

Mentors
We are ALWAYS in need of mentors for the children.  We have over 150 children and teens enrolled in our afterschool programs that need to be shown love in this way.

Office Assistants
Volunteers are needed to assist the Accounting, Human Resources, Missions, and Development Departments with everyday office work, including filing, data entry, shredding, etc…  Volunteers who can commit to a regular time schedule are encouraged (i.e. Tuesdays from 2-4)

Emergency Financial Assistance Volunteer
Volunteer needed on Wednesday mornings to help field requests for EFA and answer other program questions.  A person wanting to fill this role must make a 6-month time commitment and go through a background check.

Special Events Committee Members
Committee members are needed to assist with the planning of the Bridge & Games Benefit, Carolina Challenge (dance-a-thon), Golf Tournament, and Walk.

Painting and Repair
Volunteers are needed on weekends to help with painting the centers and with small maintenance projects.  This is a group project that will require 5 or more and at least 2 weeks advance notice.  Groups are encouraged to donate supplies for repairs when they come.
