FAQ'S

How much do I have to raise?
Each Challenger is expected to raise at least $100 to participate.

I’m not a fundraiser, how do I raise my money?
The easiest way to raise the money is through the Letter Writing Campaign.  You submit 10 names and addresses (or more, if you wish), and we send off the letters in your name.  When we receive donations, we will notify you via e-mail.  There is a list of fundraising ideas posted under the participant information page as well.  And, if you still are having a hard time raising money, contact our staff liaison, Amy Hutchison, for more help and ideas to get there.  You might just find that $100 is easier to raise than you think!

I have my team formed.  Now what?
Go to www.bethlehemcenter.org/challengereg and register EACH individual with their team name.  We will keep track of how many people you have on your team.

Do I have to dance as part of a team?
No, you do not have to dance as part of a team.  If you are concerned about raising the money, however, a team is a great way to pull together and raise the money as a group.

Do I have to stay the full 12 hours?
While we do not require you to stay the full 12 hours, we feel that by challenging yourself to stay, you are showing our youth at the Center that you are willing to fight for them.  We also are asking each team to have at least one participant at the Challenge at all times.

Can I leave and come back?
Because of safety concerns, and because we want people to challenge themselves to stay as long as possible, you will not be allowed to return after you leave.

Why do I have to pay a registration fee?
While we try to get as much donated as possible, like many charity special events, the event will cost us money to put on.  By requiring a registration fee from Challengers, the event expenses are covered, letting as much money fundraised go towards the Center as possible.  If we have more money raised through registration fees than the event costs (likely to happen if we have more than 300 Challengers) then that money will be going towards the Center as well.

Can someone donate the registration fee?
Yes, you may have someone else donate your registration fee; however, we put on all letters sent out through the letter writing campaign that the money raised through the letters goes straight to the Center, not to expenses of the event.  Because of this, we will not credit money through the LWC towards your registration fee.

Do I have to pay my registration fee at the time of registry?
No, there is an option to send your registration fee in by check when you register.  Choose that option if you would like to pay later.

My donor wants to restrict funds.  Is that possible?
Because with unrestricted funds we are able to move around money where the need is greatest, we ask that you not restrict funds where possible.  However, if a donor has a specific portion of our program they would like to support (i.e. Summer Camp or Christmas), please let us know and we will instruct you and the donor how to do so.

Who is performing?
You can see a schedule of events at www.bethlehemcenter.org/challenge.htm.  Please know that the schedule is subject to change depending on performers’ schedules.

When do I turn in money and where?
Money can be turned in at any time to Amy Hutchison at the Bethlehem Center.  Please contact her in advance to arrange a pick-up time and date.  If you have in excess of $500 in cash, please make sure to let her know when you call.
